Born in Madrid in 1967. Alfonso holds a degree in law from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid since 1991. He is also a member of the Madrid Bar Association.
His practice covers all branches of Business Criminal Law, as well as Criminal Procedural Law and Criminal-Constitutional Law. Alfonso has been involved in the most important cases in these areas in Spain in recent decades, always guided by a strict understanding of the duty of defense of the interests entrusted to him by the client. With an important international dimension in many of these matters, Alfonso has been recognized for years as one of the most sought-after lawyers of the Spanish legal profession in business criminal law. For example, he has been distinguished as "Best Lawyer" in "Criminal Defense" by International Directory Best Lawyers, the only one that carries out its selection based exclusively on the mentions made by other lawyers. He is also among the most recommended lawyers by other international directories such as Chambers or Leaders League.
Together with the aforementioned, Alfonso has developed an important activity both in the academic and corporate fields. Moreover, he is a Professor of Master's Degree in Access to the Practice of Law at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid and collaborates annually with World Justice Project (WJP) Rule of Law. Alfonso is a speaker at numerous conferences, seminars and round tables and is the author of a wide variety of publications on these matters. He was also Vice-President of the Governing Board of the Young Lawyers Group of the Madrid Bar Association, and member of the Commission for Relations with the Administration of Justice of the Madrid Bar Association. Furthermore, he has been a cooperator appointed by the Spanish Ministry of Justice for the elaboration of a Protocol with Italy for the creation of a common Police and Judicial State and the modification of the Criminal Code in matters of terrorism. Finally, he has also been appointed by Comunidad de Madrid and the Government of Colombia as an expert in Cooperation Project to guarantee an effective defense of the rights for Colombian women.
